Exclusive new renderings reveal the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, a 138-foot-tall venue under construction in the World Trade Center complex in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by an independent non-profit company called The Perelman, the project recently topped out at the northern end of the 16-acre site, bound by Greenwich Street to the east, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

The renderings are the works of LUXIGON, REX, and Rockwell Group and showcase the grand staircase facing the 9/11 Memorial, the main lobby, the performance venues, outdoor terraces, and how the marble will look up close and from afar.

Following the completion of the steel superstructure, the installation of the marble façade should begin shortly. These slabs will be illuminated from behind at night, transforming the building into a spectacular glowing cube.

The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center is scheduled to open sometime in 2023 with an official date yet to be announced.

  1. If the PAC turns out like how the renderings depict it to be, I’ll be amazed.

Hopefully none of those exterior marble panels will ever crack.

  3. Those interiors are dreadful. Add some gum on the floor and the stench of warm urine and it could be a subway station.

  4. Nice on the outside, hideous on the inside.

  5. Love the crisp, glowing exterior, but what with the dull, glooming interiors? How uninspired and uninspiring for such a simbolic place…

  6. So much for completion by the 20th anniversary

  7. So if there was a Class 4 hurricane coming, how do they close up the lobby? The grand staircase is like a ram scoop pushing storm winds into the building.
