The affordable housing lottery has launched for 428 Wythe Avenue, a six-story mixed-use development in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Asher Hershkowitz Architect and developed by Vision Development, the building yields 37 residential units and eight commercial spaces. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 12 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $88,389 to $192,400.

Amenities include a virtual doorman, security cameras, garage, a shared laundry room, and bike storage lockers. Residences have air conditioning, name-brand kitchen appliances and finishes, smart controls for heating and cooling, and private outdoor space in the form of either a balcony or patio.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are ten one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,578 for incomes ranging from $88,389 to $139,620; one two-bedroom with a monthly rent of $3,078 for incomes ranging from $105,532 to $167,570; and one three-bedroom with a monthly rent of $3,548 for incomes ranging from $121,646 to $192,400.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than July 20, 2021.

    For those who complain about the appearance of PTAC systems on exteriors, do you really want people to live with air handling boxes hanging high on their walls? No thanks.

  2. you are right both in St.louis and in Brooklyn too, however cheap developments never offer central HVAC, it’s either PTACs-noisy and bulky or this. There are floor mounted air handlers, which have better aesthetics and provide better heat/cool air quality – surprisingly they are not popular in this price range of development

    • For me this is the preferred alternative with a split unit where the interior air handler is mounted high on a wall. This way you don’t loose any of your floorspace, and you don’t have to worry about furniture blocking the air flow so the cool air circulates better.

  3. Are those 6’8″ doors? If so those are some very low ceilings. Guhh

  4. No refrigerator in the kitchen? The photo shows a big empty space for it.

  5. These apts r 2 expensive!I make $41,000. Apts also by “LOTTERY”!! I’D LIKE 2 NO WHY SO EXPENSIVE???   7. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW ARE THESE APTS. AFFORDABLE WHEN IT ONLY ACCOMMODATE THE RICH. I ONLY MAKE $55,000.00 A YEAR. SO NYC WILL ALWAYS BE FOR THE RICH & WEALTHY..SO SAD. WE ARE TAX PAYERS TO AND WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN A NICE AFFORDABLE AREA. SO SAD WHAT NYC HAS TURN INTO
