Construction is nearing completion on 145 West 108th Street, an 11-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, the nearly 200,000-square-foot project will yield 199 units for both low-income families and seniors, and an upcoming Valley Lodge facility serving 110 seniors. The property will also include 160,453 square feet of community facility space, a new home for the Central Park Medical Unit, and public restrooms for Anibal Aviles Playground directly adjacent to the east of the structure. A second phase to the east near the end of the block will bring an additional 81 senior living spaces.

Recent photos show the state of work at the site, which is located between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. The façade is comprised of many different elements, including a grid of windows with bronze-colored spandrels, a central section with a warm-colored brick envelope, and wings with earth-toned masonry walls speckled with dark bricks. The upper levels above the eighth-floor setback are clad in simple gray precast panels.

Sidewalk scaffolding and construction barriers run along West 108th Street, while crates of stacked bricks sit behind waiting to be laid. A narrow assembly of metal scaffolding and black netting vertically runs up the centerline of the edifice, but should be taken down soon. Photographs taken from above street level show the rooftop featuring numerous long rows of solar panels surrounded by a perimeter of metal fencing.

Residential amenities will include a lounge, a laundry room, a bike room, a children’s playroom, and an outdoor terrace. 145 West 108th Street is located within close proximity to three subway stations: the 103rd Street and Cathedral Parkway-110th Street stations on the 1 train to the west and the 110th Street station on the B and C trains to the east.

A previous completion date for 145 West 108th Street was slated for last year, but sometime in the next several months is possible.

  14. Hello!
In 2021 year manager on premises Sara mentioned that it will be a Jim on premises. I asked her twice about it . Both times she said ‘’yes’’.
May someone answer me why that space will be used for medical clinic instead?
