Permits have been filed for a 32-story mixed-use building at 2-01 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Located at the intersection of 50th Avenue and Center Boulevard, the corner lot is two blocks west of the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Katheline M. Pierre is listed as the owner behind the applications. The development site is under project management by corporate subsidiary Kathens’ Piettokpatia and Foundation of Motion Pictures Information Enterprises.

The proposed 200-foot-tall development will yield 395,509 square feet, with 300,000 square feet designated for residential space, 90,000 square feet for commercial space, 5,500 for community facility space, and 509 square feet for manufacturing space. The building will have 503 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 596 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and two enclosed parking spaces.

The architect of record is unknown.

Demolition permits have not been filed for the residential tower currently on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. that’s not 50th Ave!

  2. Address is wrong.

Photo is also wrong. Its showing the LIRR LIC yard and thats not getting built over anytime soon.

  3. Why only 600 feet per unit?

  4. I believe it’s on the corner of Borden and Center

  5. A 32 story building isn’t 200 feet tall.

  6. This is all wrong. There is no vacant lot at the corner of 50th Avenue and Center Blvd. Photograph shown is of Borden Ave and Center Blvd.

  7. There is so much wrong with this posting. Address is wrong (that is already a rental building). Borden/Center already have 2 rental building erected (Related) Picture is from Bord and center but there is already a bulding there…

Image has been updated! There is already a residential building on the site but this is the address on the permit filing. YIMBY will continue tracking it.

    • Interesting. Just looks like they are changing layouts and upgrading number of units (currently 372 units to 503 units on the same footprint.

  9. I am the head of Real Estate for Foundation Medicine. FMI is not engaged in any Real Estate Activity in New York. This information is not correct. Please take down or correct the page as it is causing a lot of confusion

  10. My guess is someone accidentally checked the “New Building” box, rather than an alteration box on the permit filing application.

  11. You really need to do a little more due diligence before you post stuff like this. Once again, the complete lack of local knowledge and reliance is disheartening. And we all know this isn’t the first time.

    • I agree, there has been less attention to detail than the website had in the past. It is frustrating as generally coverage of the market is so thorough. They need a little more QA before they publish.
