New renderings from Michael Muroff Architect reveal Surf House, a proposed four-story residential building at at 183 Beach 101st Street in Rockaway Beach, Queens.

The design group was inspired by the bohemian vibe of Venice Beach and describe the forthcoming residences as vertical bungalows with a modern twist. In practice, each of the seven residences feature large ceiling spans with floor-to-ceiling windows. Select units have private balconies offering views of the surrounding neighborhood. The development will also include five parking spaces, rooftop seating and lounge areas, an outdoor shower, and surfboard storage.

The façade features a mix of concrete, blue and white metal paneling, and composite wood materials.

Tahoe Development is the entity responsible for the proposed multi-family building, which will eventually replace an existing three-story single-family home. At this time, the development team has not revealed an anticipated date of completion for the project.

  7. no better way to spruce up the block than to make a giant residence that looks nothing like the other residences on the block. nice! the same thing has occurred in Long Beach … go bring this house there you’ll get double the price.

  8. When you replace a one family residence with seven and inadequate parking it doesn’t look like it’s always been there
