Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 2441 Crotona Avenue in Belmont, The Bronx. Located between East 189th Street and East 187th Street, the lot is closest to the Fordham Road subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Stagg Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 68-foot-tall development will yield 53,895 square feet, with 33,783 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 51 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 662 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar, a 25-foot-long rear yard, and 33 enclosed parking spaces.

Minkuk Kim of Marin Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in August 2020 for a single-family residence on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

As people had hoped, it would be printed and distributed from developer’s debut: Thank you.

  2. YIMBY, Does your source for items like this list the lot size? There is no way this development is replacing only one house. There must be an assemblage involved.

  3. It may actually be two houses torn down.

  4. There is a strong possibility this will be a shelter. I have one from them 8 feet from me.

Nice development and plan. I hope they can transfer me faster from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom in one of the new building, as I am on the waitlist in Stevenson Commons. Or, I would even like to invest in the coop!!! These are great ideas.
