Construction has topped out on 212 West 93rd Street, a 14-story condominium building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The project is designed by Eran Chen, head of ODA, and developed by Landsea Homes and Leyton Properties, which acquired the 9,000-square-foot plot from the Shaare Zedek Congregation for $34.3 million. The property will contain 20 units designed by GRADE New York and marketed by The Lindsey Stokes Team, a division within real estate brokerage Compass.

New photographs show the main northern elevation with its staggered, Tetris-like massing. The interstitial voids are in the process of being enclosed with the floor-to-ceiling windows. About two thirds of the panels are in place, while the upper floors are not too far behind. Meanwhile, yellow-green waterproofing and insulation layers cover the front edges of the reinforced concrete floor slabs and walls. The irregularly shaped voids and cantilevering sections of the building will become private outdoor landscaped terraces for residents.

The property will span 65,000 square feet, with 39,543 dedicated to residential space. Homes will be available in one- to four-bedroom layouts and will be fitted with handcrafted millwork and oversized wood-clad windows. Amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, a private rooftop terrace, fitness studio, children’s playroom, pet spa station, and bike storage, as well as dedicated storage spaces that are available for purchase. A select few units are full-floor spreads and include private outdoor terraces. The cellar, ground floor, and second floor will serve as a new home for the Shaare Zedek Congregation.

212 West 93rd Street is estimated to be finished sometime next year, and sales are slated to launch in early 2021.

  1. Yet another “architect” taking inspiration from a 5 year old (ie. Gene Kaufmann),or letting his 5 year old “design” the building? ?

    • I couldn’t believe that you read my mind like this when I arrived at the bottom of the page. I was thinking to myself how this looks just like the village my 5.5 y/o made in Minecraft. ?

  2. Please keep me updated on this project

  3. Of course nothing available for New Yorkers that actually live here that could afford it ?

    • Agreed – most of new projects I see are targeted at the extremely high end – while I’m all in favor of new units going up, are there any developments targeted at middle income New Yorkers? Do developer economics only make sense for high end apartments?

  4. Of course right outside the windows of the complex will show one of the most crime plagued housing projects on the upper West side. And the summers with the loud blasting music-this is going to be a very interesting situation for these residents.
