Construction is complete and tenants have begun moving into The Kent House, a seven-story mixed-use building at 187 Kent Avenue in WilliamsburgBrooklyn. Located between North 3rd Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue, the project is designed by Diego Aguilera Architects P.C. and developed by CW Realty Management, which purchased the site for $43 million. The 140,036-square-foot structure contains 96 homes.

Recent photos show the finished look of the red-brick masonry façade, which features a dash of scattered white bricks. A modern take on classic New York industrial design, the structure incorporates an array of balconies with black decorative railings, a mix of black arched and square industrial-style windows, and a row of two-story metal arches along the first two floors.

The ground floor and second floor contain 22,108 square feet of retail space. The second level also houses a private 170-vehicle parking garage. Residences range from studios to three-bedroom layouts and come with amenities such as a gym, a laundry room, a virtual doorman, a game room, a rooftop, an indoor and outdoor lounge, co-working space, a media room, a bicycle room, and a mail and package room. The Kent House is also pet-friendly. Studios vary from 359 to 513 square feet; one-bedrooms range between 451 to 680 square feet; two-bedrooms span between 650 to 915 square feet; and three-bedrooms measure between 875 to 1,020 square feet. Each unit type comes with two different layouts, and almost every option comes with either a balcony or a terrace.

187 Kent Avenue is a short walk from the North Williamsburg ferry terminal and is also not far from Domino Park. The nearest subway is the L train at Bedford Avenue, while the J, M, and Z trains are also nearby at the elevated Marcy Avenue station by the intersection of Broadway and Havemeyer Street.

  1. This is kinda nice. I don’t LOVE it though.

  2. The balconies detract from it but otherwise it’s pretty nice looking.

The balconies are so the StreetEasy rental listings can state that every unit has “generous outdoor space.”

  3. This does look like an upgraded factory.

It shows the charm of Williamsburg circa the 1950s.

It never ceases to amaze me how people put down big money to live in an area which until the more recently residents would do virtually anything to escape.

If you’re going to spend this type of money why not live in Manhattan?

Proximity to the city is not the same as being there.

  4. When/If the retail spaces here fill up, the rest of this building will look even better.

  5. Check out the layouts for a real surprise. The worst I’ve seen in a long time. 3 beds and 1 bath. Is this for immigrant labor housing? Awful. Oh but it looks nice. Puleez.

  6. Why is it that every new apartment building I see listed has such small apartments. A 3bd with less than 1k sqft, have these designers ever had children????

NYC will eventually just be single people with roommates, while all families are pushed out to the suburbs or at least the outer rim of each borough. Funny thing is those single people are generally not native NYers and will leave the city once they think of having a family.

  7. Like the ground floor…pretty much hate the rest of it.

  8. Building has been occupied since November 2019

  9. kitchens do not comply with building code or fair housing act…

  10. Its so Beautiful
