YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for new renderings of Ismael Leyva Architects’ 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper on the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Also referred to as Tower B in a two-building development along with 601 West 29th Street, the project is being developed by Lalezarian Properties and will yield 312,350 square feet. Of that, 192,780 square feet will be designated to residential space and 14,240 square feet for commercial use. The program will feature both condominiums and rentals, but the exact breakdown not been announced yet.

The day and nighttime renderings illustrate the look of 606 West 30th Street’s glass curtain wall at various heights. The first two reveal the overall perspective of the skyscraper looking southwest from above the High Line. The rectangular cutout in the center of the northern elevation appears to have some greenery placed just behind the nearly five-and-a-half-story wall of suspended glass. This section is highlighted in the evening depiction with bright, warm lighting.

Here is a closer look at this part of the design.

This rendering shows a residential lounge on the eastern half of the floor plate and an indoor swimming pool on the western half that would certainly provide wide views of both phases of the Hudson Yards master plan and the Hudson River to the right.

The next renderings detail the four-story podium, which is clad in floor-to-ceiling glass. A setback on the fifth level makes way for what looks like a large outdoor terrace with a bar and dining and lounge areas. The tower rises from this juncture in a consistent massing. The main entrance will sit under a long glass and metal canopy, and there appears to be a parking entrance at the northern corner of the ground floor.

A completion date for 606 West 30th Street has not been announced, but it is conceivable that work could wrap up sometime in late 2021 or early 2022.

    • But you don’t really mean it though. You do nothing but bash EVERY project in Hudson Yards. You are so bitter. Sad

  4. Regardless of economic viability, that design is just beautiful. It would be a nice addition to that area. NYC is changing. Deal with it.

To all who are slow on the uptake, the Hudson Yards is a ghost town with in a city, take a walk through it and count how many people you see, out side the skateboard kids if the virus stays much longer every body will be broke.
