Construction is finishing up on Bevel LIC, an 18-story residential building at 42-20 27th Street in Long Island City, Queens. The project is designed by ODA and developed by Rabsky Group with Durukan Design as the interior designer. Fiddler Realty and City View Living are in charge of marketing the property’s 202 units.

Tectonic’s photograph below shows the state of progress on the structure, which is located along 42nd Road between Crescent Street and 27th Street. Nearly all exterior work is complete, revealing the design’s sleek diagonal lines and angular cuts. The building’s idiosyncratic massing breaks significantly from the current architectural trend of regular glass boxes, simplified window fenestrations, and flat profiles.

Bevel LIC will feature five different home layouts: studios beginning at $2,400 per month; junior one-bedrooms for $2,850 per month; one-bedrooms for $3,200 per month; two-bedrooms for $4,200 per month; and a two-bedroom spread with a private terrace with the monthly rent price available by contacting the building. Each comes with floor-to-ceiling windows and wooden floors.

The lobby has high ceilings, architecturally finished concrete columns and floors, and abundant natural daylight exposure. Amenities include a library with a fireplace, a landscaped courtyard, a business center, a game room, a children’s room, a party room, a cinema, a rooftop, bicycle storage, a residential lounge, and a fitness center. The elevated Queensboro Plaza station is just one block to the north with access to the 7, N, and W trains.

Work on Bevel LIC should reach full completion imminently.

  1. Interestin that hood used to be industrial eyesores. Wonder how it will sell.

  2. There are already many occupied apartments in this building, even as it’s finishing up. Good to see some creativity in this building.

  3. I liked the lighter color facade in the renderings better.

  4. No local school, one local market, subway noise and little to view on one side…and one overworked local hospital. But PS1, MOMA affiliated museum, and a climbing wall place nearby.

  5. Construction is finishing up but it’s not complete. Maybe 85% complete. The outdoor space/patio is unfinished and is weeks or months away from full completion.

There are also a lot of units on Crescent Street as well as the retail area that is unfinished. Many windows have a sticky tape x on them.

There’s also a common space, I think they called it an atrium, that is unfinished.
