Permits have been pre-filed for a 35-story mixed-use building at 200 East 83rd Street, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Located between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue, the corner lot is also known as 1469 3rd Avenue. The 86th Street subway station is three blocks north, serviced by the N and Q trains. Michael Witek of the Naftali Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 449-foot-tall development will yield 208,881 square feet, with 205,877 square feet designated for residential space and 3,033 square feet for commercial space. It will have 86 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 2,393 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 26 enclosed parking spaces.

James Davidson of SLCE Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in early May of this year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

N train is not nearby..only Q and occasionally the W is used instead.

Also the Q station at 86th can be access at 83rd and 2nd so only one block east. Also, not forgetting the 4,5,6 and 86th and Lex.

Either way, as with many of these new condos, I’m not sure the location of the subway is of any relevance.

So it’s plenty of subway options within half of kilometer range, big pardon in about 1/3 mile range. Hopefully won’t be all glass, so it will fit under new “glass skyscraper ban” by our Great Mayor Herr Bill Der Blasio and his “new green deal”, love it or hate it, or next time don’t vote for Socialist Demon Rats anymore!!!

  4. This site is also set to include the frontage on 3rd Ave. All the former bars/restuarants in that strip have closed in order to make way for the building (Gael Pub, Belgian restaurant, relocated Sushi Para).

  5. Certain N trains do run on the Second Avenue line during rush hours.

  6. Affordable housing included?

  7. a nightmare!!
Residents in the area are just recuperating from the 5 year off and on construction terror of a building on SW corner of Third and 82. Will there be a public hearing for the project?
Now this . . . . . and when it’s done they will do the NE corner of Third and 82
and so on and so on. No fun to live here any longer
