Construction Reaches Halfway Mark at WeWork’s 368 Ninth Avenue Outpost

Construction on WeWork’s behemoth Midtown building is halfway complete, marking a major milestone for the conglomerate’s newest location just steps from Hudson Yards. Originally completed in 1930 by Sears Roebuck & Company, the commercial development will comprise nearly 412,000 square feet of office space at the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 31st Street.

Following the milestone announcement, OC Development has revealed a new batch of renderings for the commercial property.

“We are thrilled to be working with both Nuveen Real Estate and WeWork to enliven the street presence and amenity areas of this prominent Midtown West building,” said Jonathan Ninnis, Principal and President of OC Development Management, the firm responsible for redevelopment of the existing property. “Given its prime location near Penn Station and Hudson Yards, we believe this project will transform the property and enhance tenants’ and visitors’ experience at 368 Ninth Avenue.”

OC Development expects construction to wrap by the end of 2019 which will include fully renovated office suites, outdoor areas, a modernized lobby, and re-optimized views of the surrounding New York City skyline.
