Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 290 East 149th Street, in The Bronx. Located on East 149th Street between Morris Avenue and Courtlandt Avenue in Mott Haven, the site is two blocks west of the 3 Avenue – 149 Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Peter Serpico, principal of Omnibuild, is listed as behind the applications.

The 85-foot tall structure will yield 146,186 square feet, with 91,058 square feet dedicated to residential use and 20,641 square feet for commercial space. There will be 123 apartment units, most likely rentals due to their average scope of 740 square feet apiece. There will also be 65 off-street parking spaces on the interior lot. According to filings, the new concrete-based development will have two separate buildings, as well as a cellar.

Ariel Aufgang, principal of Aufgang Architects will be responsible for the architecture.

No demolition permits have been filed for the extant three-story mixed-use building currently on the site, from 1931. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: I glanced at words I know this is only development details, not glare not stare but I just read. (Hello YIMBY)

  2. Oh No!!!!!!! Not Yolanda’s!!!!!! This has to be the best Italian restaurant in the Bronx in my opinion. The Italian mob use to eat their from what I’m told. Love their Lasagna.

  3. Just because their building is being torn down doesn’t mean they’re going out of business.

  4. I’m hoping that they come back to the commercial space when building is complete. Will find out for sure when I visit for lunch today.

  5. Omg,that was my date place back in the day!Good times???
