Westchester’s Industrial Development Agency has unanimously approved the construction of two mixed-use apartment complexes in White Plains, New York, dubbed The Collection.

The first property, Westmoreland Lofts at 138-158 Westmoreland Avenue, will contain 62 residential units, ground floor retail and commercial area, unspecified amenity areas, and a rooftop terrace. Ten percent of the units will be “affordable” homes.

Nearby, 81-100 Westchester Avenue will comprise 276 residential units spread across two buildings. Seventeen units will be reserved for low-income families and individuals. The development will also deliver 24,526 square feet of retail space and 716 parking spaces.

Together, the projects are expected to create nearly 400 new construction and permanent jobs, which county officials call a significant investment in the local economy. The developments are also privately funded and therefore will arrive at no cost or risk to taxpayers.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Having the allow to look your rendering. Shining brightly.

  2. I love the air quotes around “affordable” – it seems like a tacit admission on the part of YIMBY that most new construction in the NYC metro area is rarely as “affordable” as the older units it replaced. I realize this is an article about a project in Westchester, but I think “affordable” would be appropriate for many of the projects YIMBY gets excited about in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

  3. Yay Go White Plains NY you can do it. Although the city is 100yrs old but with all of thse projects The city imagines that the city is in its Youth or teenage life 😀

  4. How is it “moving forward” when all of the owners at 158 Westmoreland ave have not agreed to sell?

  5. This is not the project that is going at this location. The illustration shows what is going to be built on Westchester Ave and Franklin Ave

  6. It’s 2020, Tekashi69 also known as Daniel Hernandez, the Mexican rapper who could not make it in the rap industry is being transported to where, Weschester County should know…..His release date was supposed to be January 2020 , (his expectations), he got two years plus 7 years supervised released if he follows the rules of the witness protection program.
