Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 83-12 Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens. The site is three blocks from the Elmhurst Avenue subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. Howard C. Haider Jr., trustee of the Haider Family Trust, will be responsible for the development.

The 72-foot tall structure will yield 34,000 square feet, with 20,760 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 5,240 square feet for commercial use. 34 apartments will be created, averaging 610 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Residents will have access to a laundry room, and rooftop recreation area.

ABC Engineering is listed as responsible for the design.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the existing structure. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. I heard from from some of the older owner’s of this property, that it had limited value because of the MTA subway restrictions for building a large structure, like a 7 story building.
