Permits have been filed for an eight-story affordable senior housing structure at 64 Scholes Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is within walking distance to three different subway stations, collectively providing access to the G, J, L, M, and Z trains. Alex Arker of the Arker Companies is responsible for the development.

The 65-foot tall structure will yield 55,800 square feet, with 39,000 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 9,000 square feet for community facility use. 65 units will be created, averaging 600 square feet apiece. The residents will have access to indoor and outdoor recreational space on the second floor, laundry, and accessory storage.

Aufgang Architects will be responsible for the design. Their most significant previous works in Williamsburg are 120 Union Avenue and 123 Hope Street, both of which provide clues for how the firm is likely to approach designing in the neighborhood again.

The lot is currently vacant, meaning construction can start as soon as permits are approved, indicating an end-of-year start.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: I agree in full career with several things that I have to care. (Colors and facade)

  2. Fun neighborhood — I’d retire there.
