Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 1249 43rd Street, in Borough Park, Brooklyn, right by the Greenwood cemetery. The site is four blocks from the Fort Hamilton Subway station, serviced by the D train. The Church Avenue subway station is ten blocks away, serviced by the F and G trains. Isaac Stern of Gemstar Contracting is listed as responsible for the development.

The 45-foot tall structure will yield 7,250 square feet, with 5,490 square feet dedicated to residential use. Four apartments will be created, averaging 1,372 square feet apiece, indicating condominiums.

AR Tech Engineering will be responsible for the design.

The lot is currently occupied by a two-story structure. Demolition permits have not been filed, and the estimated completion date has not been announced.

The structure is one door down from 1241 43rd Street, for which Centro Paz Construction Corp filed permits to build a similarly sized apartment building, with design by Bricolage.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Not small for a four-story residential building. And details not too short for reporting. (Thank you)

  2. Nowhere near Greenwood Cemetery.

12 blocks from an entrance into Greenwood Cemetery in an otherwise park-deficient neighborhood is pretty damn close.
