Today YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for yet another major new development coming to Astoria, in Queens, showcasing design by Aufgang Architects. The depiction shows the building’s façade along 30th Street. Concrete panels will be installed in a rectilinear pattern likened to a minimalist refinement of row houses, which projects the sheer scale of the city block-sized structure. The site is just ten blocks away from the Astoria Boulevard subway station, serviced by the N and W trains.

Tenants will have a lobby and a second-floor recreational space. A total of 199 apartments will be created, averaging 670 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Several terraces will be created for penthouse units at the top of the buildings. Below grade, parking for 146 cars and 110 bicycles will be created.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: It’s zaniest if someone tells you about me that I hate development.

What is the reason for referencing the Astoria Boulevard N and W station being 10 blocks away when the 36th Avenue station is located 1 block away from this project?

Also, the Google Maps photo cannot possibly be the address indicated (37-01 30th Street) because it clearly illustrates a scene from underneath the elevated N and W tracks which anyone remotely familiar with Astoria would know correspond to 31st Street – not 30th street.

“The site is just ten blocks away from the Astoria Boulevard subway station, serviced by the N and W trains.” – the site is adjacent to the elevated N/W line, 1 block from the 36th Street station.

is this on 30th street or 30th avenue?

  6. The site in the picture is 31st street which seems correct for the construction. The address in the article is 37-01 30th Street which is completely incorrect

  7. If the address is 37-01 30th Street. It would mean it is on 37th Ave. & entrance would be on 30th Street. I want to know are there going to be any Affordable Apartments for this Building?
