Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 1270 New York Avenue, in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The site is five blocks away from the Newkirk Avenue/Nostrand Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains, one stop away from the end of the line at Flatbush Avenue. Yitzchok Katz is listed as behind the applications.

The 70-foot tall structure will yield 38,950 square feet, with 26,700 square feet dedicated to residential use. 39 apartments would be created, averaging 685 square feet apiece, indicating rentals, and possibly affordable housing.

Residents will have access to a recreational space in the cellar and first floor, laundry, a lobby, and bicycle parking spaces on the first five floors. 20 parking spaces will be included on site.

Michael Avramides Architects will be responsible for the development.

Demolition permits were filed for the structure earlier this month. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
