Solow Files for 52-Story Skyscraper at 12 West 57th Street

The development saga continues on a hotly contested segment of West 57th Street located just south of Central Park, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Solow Management Corp has filed fresh permits for 12 West 57th Street, revealing a new 52-story mixed-use skyscraper with a proposed height of 672 feet.

  2. I’m sorry but NYC sucks… I used to like it but its being overbuilt to a point of being unlivable and devoid of any sense of taste, character and sense of place.

    • That they are tearing down these attractive buildings for a tower that may not even get built, given that this economic boil is coming to a head. That said, you are correct….The “great new towers” are now beginning to tire the eyes with glass, glass , glass. I love the new skinny super talls on W.57. They at least have nice texture and unusual height. 53 W. 53 stands out above them all in design.
