Our last reporting on 845 Howard Avenue was after the NYC Department of City Planning gave approval to the Robert A.M. Stern Architects’ design in October. Now, permits have been filed for the site, which also goes by 3 Livonia Avenue, in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The project will be named Edwin’s Place, and will be the fifth project in Brooklyn by the non-profit partnership of Breaking Ground and The African American Planning Commission Inc.

The plan comes as part of Mayor De Blasio’s initiative to build affordable homes for 300,000 New York City families. Their plan has already financed over 77,000 affordable homes since 2014.

The 80-foot tall, eight-story structure will yield 115,540 square feet of space, with 95,720 square feet dedicated to the affordable housing, and 3,080 square feet for commercial-retail space. 126 apartments will be created, averaging 760 square feet apiece. Tenants will have access to a computer room, bicycle storage, laundry room, fitness center, multipurpose room, offices, and a rooftop terrace.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Agglutination between report and revealed, so much beautiful views mix and match facade.

  2. Not looking much like a Stern building

  3. Did not read anything about Parking for such a large building.

  4. So glad to see that empty lot finally going to be built on. There is another similar lot in the Bronx. The lot is on Stebbins ave. Why does it take so many years for a no brainer.
