Permits have been filed for a new four-story residential building at 475 Grand Street, in the burgeoning blocks of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is five blocks away from the Metropolitan Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the L and G trains. Southside Units will be responsible for the development.

Despite being listed as four stories tall, the structure will rise up 70 feet high, making room for mezzanine space in units above the ground floor.

8,180 square feet will be created in all, with 6,400 square feet dedicated to residential use. Eight apartments will result, averaging 800 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Tenants will have access to a laundry room and accessory space within the cellar.

Diego Aguilera Architects will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits have been filed for the existing two-story structure. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: I thought it was true, and expected to happen for a new four-story residential building. (Hello YIMBY)
