Back in March of 2016, YIMBY reported on new building applications for 131-09 Fowler Avenue, in Flushing, Queens. Today, we have the reveal for the project, which has also been redubbed 131-11 Fowler Avenue.

MY Architect P.C. is behind the design, and the structure will rise eight floors in all. There will be 18,000 square feet of retail on the first floor of the project, with four separate storefronts. Above that, 73,981 square feet of residential space will be divided amongst 80 units, averaging over 900 square feet apiece. There will also be 42 parking spaces in the cellar.

The exterior will feature strips of windows both large and small, and while most will be PTAC free, the second floor appears to be afflicted. This would seemingly confirm condos.

Beyond the limited appearance of PTACs, the design is fairly simple, and will improve upon the former one-story occupant. The envelope will be flush against the sidewalk, enhancing the block’s nascent urbanity, and with diverse retail included in the program, the project should also benefit from a pedestrian perspective.

Completion is expected in 2019, and W&L Group Construction is the developer.

    Modern decoration in no limit.

  2. Replacing the former home of the great Dick Sequerra’s Pyramid Loudspeakers.
