Reveal for 251-73 Jericho Turnpike, Floral Park Commercial and Office Building

Two years ago, YIMBY reported on new job applications for a three-story commercial and medical office building at 251-73 Jericho Turnpike, in Floral Park, Queens. Now, we have the reveal for the site’s attractive design, which is rising at the corner of Little Neck Parkway, right across the street from Nassau County.

Building permits for the project show that there will be about 40,000 square feet in total, with 12,000 square feet to be used for commercial space, and 28,000 square feet to be used by medical offices as a community facility.

While the applications only show three floors, renderings for the site show what appears to be four floors, clad in an appealing brick and metal facade. As YIMBY previously reported, the surrounding neighborhood has restrictive suburban-style zoning, and this project gets around those hurdles by bundling the majority of its density as a community facility.

Less prohibitive zoning is the obvious solution to this kind of issue, but with the workaround, the site still acts as a positive on the local streetscape.

AB Capstone is developing, while Dal H. Chun is the architect on the building applications. Completion is likely relatively soon.

Hello..YIMBY..since you reveal your details in here and I release my opinions into leave a comment, I never disappointed with your development so (come on!) the project/the plan/the building etc. Creative can’t sleep when we need to see the progress and unstoppable new noticeable property lively for any purposes. (I love on the corner specially stayed street level)

  2. Those suburban NIMBYs have been yapping about this one for a while, can’t wait to hear what they have to say when they see this! Beautiful design, excellent location right at the NYC line. A definite step in the right direction for this underdeveloped area of Queens.
