Construction Update: 432 Park Avenue

New York’s future tallest building is shooting upwards, and 432 Park’s core has already reached the seventh floor. Besides the inner core, the concrete exterior–which is crucial to the structure’s overall integrity–is also now rising, and the forms have reached the third level.

The building’s ‘facade’ is finally visible, as the forms have lifted to the third floor of the exterior walls. Current speculation is that the raw concrete will be the final product, and will lack any laminate or covering. Though the concrete is expected to be stunningly white after the curing process is completed, that certainly isn’t the case yet, as the curing process is ongoing.

At the current pace of progress (compare the below photos with those from one month ago), 432 Park will be taller than all of its immediate neighbors by the summer. Construction has been flying since the fall, though the building is only 90 feet on each side.

Be sure to check out the 432 Park webcams as well, as they have continuous live coverage of the site from three different perspectives.
